Naheed became a member of the Department of Oncology at Bradford Teaching Hospitals
Foundation Trust in 2006 and works in collaboration with
the Leeds Psychosocial and Clinical Practice Research group. Prior to this Naheed
was part of the voluntary sector working with diverse and vulnerable young
adults diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder to ensure social inclusion, equality
and well being.
Naheed is currently involved in a program of work assessing the social difficulties and the impact of cancer on people of South Asian origin living in Yorkshire. The project's vision is to expand routine patient centred assessment to include patients of south Asian origin. There is a need for culturally sensitive services and effective care for those from diverse cultures. From this study and information gathered from earlier work, we plan to develop patient information and staff guidance for use with the touchscreen system. This should result in improved patient well-being and staff confidence. Naheed has a BSc(Hons) in Psychology and a MSc in Psychological Approaches to Health from the University of Hull. |
