Dr Dan Stark
Senior Lecturer in Cancer Medicine/Honorary Consultant in Medical Oncology
Dan has been an accredited consultant medical oncologist since 2003, having trained in Cambridge,
London and Leeds, including training in general internal medicine and psychiatry as a junior doctor.
Dan began conducting psychosocial oncology research in 1999 and was awarded a PhD in 2002.
Dan has a clinical practice in the Leeds Teaching Hospital NHS Trust, caring for patients with
germ cell tumours and sarcomas predominantly with a particular interest in the care of teenagers and
young adults with cancer.
Dan contributes academic and clinical advice to many of the studies in the group, and has recently
increased that through the NCRI COMPASS collaborative.
His specific area of greatest interest is in psychological wellbeing and problems in people living
with cancer, in terms of assessment and intervention.
